Oven
Cleaning Department
Not to long ago cast iron was cleaned by
soaking in a costic chemical, or as we
called them, hot tanks. Now, because of the
stronger EPA laws and our own concern for
the environment, we use an oven system. This
is actually the very best way to clean. Heat
turns all of the grease and oil into powder,
then a blaster removes it, and the cast iron
is just as clean as the day it was new. The
block goes from there to the bore
department.
