Connecting Rod Department

The old pistons are pressed off and the rods are cleaned in our oven system. All the rods are taken apart and surfaced at the parting lines, then put together and reconditioned back to factory specifications. If the rod has a full floating pin, the bushing is replaced and honed to fit the new pins. New pistons are assembled to the rods using a rod heater. (A rod heater is a controlled flame heating the rod to a precise temperature). This system is much better because the piston does not have any stress upon it like it does when it is pressed.
