Camshaft
& Crankshaft Grinding Department

Like all other cast iron parts in the
engine, the crank and camshaft are cleaned
in our oven system. The camshafts are
checked for bad lobes and scraped as
necessary. The good cores are reground back
to factory specifications, and parkerized to
help during the new lifter break in period.
The crankshafts are all checked for
straightness prior to grinding, and the oil
holes are chamfered. The crank journals are
then ground to a precise underside and
micropolished. A check with the profilometer
ensures us a smooth finish.
